  • One advantage is that unlike blogging or writing articles and books, podcasts allow for the use of language intonation.
  • We live in an extremely active world. We don’t always have time to stop and read. Therefore, being able to listen on the go is a great alternative to gain knowledge and get entertained.

Reasons to Start

It can be listened to via stream or downloaded directly to your device if you’ll be offline. Therefore, there’s no excuse to not be entertained and learn something new at the same time.

Getting into podcasting does not require a huge investment in equipment or software. Everything that is needed is most likely in your possession already or can be obtained for FREE. Recordings can be done using a smartphone or an inexpensive microphone and Free software such as Audacity or Garage Band.

For publishing the file, there are FREE podcast hosting services available while you’re getting started. Once you’re making some money, one can upgrade to a more advanced package.

One major benefit of podcasting is the ability to create a personal audience and have others connect with you personally. They connect with you on a very emotional level including the tone of your voice and your story telling approach. It’s all part of the podcast “show”.

Even though you may have an audience for your blog, the podcast is a little different. It requires much more effort and work to build the audience, thus the return on the investment of time can be greater. Just keep with it and refining your craft.

It’s Actually Fun to Do!

If you though writing articles was creative enough, relaxing and maybe fun, podcasting definitely can be fun! The reason for this is that we have the opportunity to interact with others in one-on-one interviews and in a normal speaking method. (We all know that the way we speak is different than the way we write, right?)
